Afraid of Needles?
Don't be!
We know that some people get more nervous than
others at the mere sight of a needle and syringe.
That's why we now use the Wand™, a small
hand piece that looks like a pen.
This system allows for comfortable delivery of
anaesthetic in a very non-threatening manner.
The Wand™
It doesn't look like a syringe. It doesn't feel
like a syringe. And, it works better than a syringe,
resulting in a more pleasant experience.
History of Anaesthesia
The traditional dental syringe has changed very
little since its introduction in 1853. In the
era of modern dentistry it would seem fitting
to use computers to deliver painless dental anaesthesia.
Dental Anaesthesia dates back to at least 1800
when a group of chemicals were discovered that
blocked the transmission of nerve impulses. The
syringe that delivers dental anaesthetics was invented
by Cook in 1920. Until recently, there had not
been major improvements in the way local dental
anesthetics could be delivered.

How the Wand™ works.
The Wand uses a computer to deliver precise pressure and volume ratios of anaesthetic.
Some researchers, including Hochman et al. (1997), have concluded that 'there
is an optimal flow rate of anesthetic solution at which the perception of pain
during injection is minimized.
